Sunrise or Sunset

Thursday 3rd July, 2025

I'm currently sitting on one of my favourite wonders of the world: a beach. I'm in sunny Jamaica and life is magical. I'm watching the sun slowly set over the horizon with rays of orange, yellow, and purple dazzling the sky with beauty, as the sun slowly descends out of sight. Now this is natural beauty if I ever have seen it. But the beauty goes deeper than the colours, as the calmness and peacefulness of the sunset is just so soothing for the soul. This of course contrasts with the more lively sunrise dance that the sun performs at the other end of the day. A sunrise is equally as beautiful as a sunset, but they both evoke different feelings within. This brings me to my question today: are you more sunset or sunrise? People have asked this question a lot in recent years, and although I truly believe it is down to you and what is in your heart, I thought I would provide a description of both so you can truly decide.

Sunrise

This is what I would say I am. I'm an early riser by nature, just like the sun always is in some part of the world! But being a sunrise doesn't just depend on your waking time, it relates to character traits too. For example, the sun takes a while to rise and heat up the earth, and I too take a while to warm to others upon first meeting them, but then we both shine naturally once we are comfortable. Another character trait relates to the sunrise changing a lot throughout the year (it feels more so than sunset), both timewise and destination. Therefore, if you evolve and grow a lot as a person, you are a sunrise as you are both ever-changing. I also think that sunrise signals new beginnings, as in yes it is the beginning of the day, but it feels more than that almost like the birth of a new world. To put this into context, if you are regularly starting lots of new and exciting projects you are a sunrise. I also believe that girlies who wear silver are sunrises, but that'll be explained more in the sunset.

Sunset

The night owls, the fast movers, the technicoloured dreamers. These are all obvious ways to describe a sunset. Sunset's are the people that tend to be more vibrant, due to all of the colours being displayed. Another Sunset character trait is being very organised and task-oriented. This relates to completion, like the completion of a day by sunset. To touch on my earlier point, sunset is normally for the gold girlies as just before sunset you have the golden hour that always has the most stunning golden hues.

So are you a sunset or sunrise? I don't think it really matters, as like with both natural phenomena there is beauty in everyone.
