All the things to love about personalised gifts

Written on Tuesday 13th February, 2018

I love buying gifts.

I think I love buying gifts more than I love receiving them!

I wasn't always like this, but since I've started buying personalised gifts for my family and friends, I just can't get enough of seeing the looks on their faces when they unwrap my pressies!

Here are some more wonderful reasons to love giving and receiving personalised gifts.

Personalised gifts are easy to source last-minute

We've all been there - you've left it a little too long and now the special event is around the corner and you're running the risk of turning up empty-handed.

I'm guilty of being a little forgetful sometimes, but thanks to modern technology and websites like NotOnTheHighStreet, FunkyPigeon and MoonPig, I'm never caught off-guard when it comes to finding the perfect present in record time. Another thing - if you're as hopeless at wrapping presents as I am, these websites offer a gift-wrapping service at a small extra cost. It's a life saver!

Transform a simple gift into the perfect present

I also love the fact that pretty much anything can be personalised for gifting - cutlery, clothes, books, mugs, food packaging - the list goes on and on. One of the first personalised gifts I ever bought was a mug for my Mum. At first glance, it looked like a normal white mug, but when you put hot water in it, a picture of her would appear.

I may have been young - but I thought it was magical! And the best part? She loved it.

You'd be surprised at how quickly a simple present can be transformed into a totally unique gift with the addition of a name, a picture or a touching message.

A chance to use some creativity

A personalised gift that's done right can end up being so much more than a gift to the recipient - you may just end up giving that person a keepsake that can be treasured forever. A little personalised touch adds a lot of sentimental value - perfect for leaving a lasting impression or making someone's day extra special.

When my godson was born I got him a fluffy white dressing gown that had ears on the hood and his name embroidered on the front. As I ordered it, I kept imagining him holding it as an adult in 20 years' time, maybe even showing it to his own children one day!

Something anyone can love

Personalised presents are versatile, making them perfect for every occasion and any recipient. I've brought personalised gifts for new bornbabies and grandparents. The closest of my friends and acquaintances.

You can always find the perfect present for someone if it has a little personal touch.

And from the heart-warming and tender to the silly and even sarcastic, the message you want to send is entirely up to you!

Stand out with a unique present

Before I started buying personalised gifts, I was forever stuck for ideas on what to buy people. I am a perfectionist right down to the presents I buy, and I always wanted to be sure that I was getting something the person would truly like. Now, I don't have that worry and I can always be sure that my gift is unique.

With a personalised gift, you don't need to worry about being the 5th person that shows up to the wedding reception with a toaster. After all, yours has the bride and groom's names on it!

Say it with a gift

Have you ever been too shy to say what's really on your mind?

I know I have, and that's where a good old personalised gift can come in handy!

After all, some things are just easier to say when they're written on the back of a phone case or engraved into a ring - don't you think?

Personalised gifts are the perfect way to let your recipient know just how much they mean to you. So why not surprise them with a message they'll remember forever?

The most thoughtful and meaningful gift you can buy

What better way to show someone you care about them than with a gift you've taken your time to personalise?

A gesture like this shows that you've gone out of your way to get them something original, and yet you're doing it from the comfort of your own home.

Nothing feels better than seeing the face of someone you care about light up when they receive a gift they never expected or imagined they would get. And that is the biggest reason why I love to personalise my gifts.

In the case of personalised gifting, it truly is the thought that counts.

Have I convinced you? I hope so! Give it a try - your family and friends will adore their personalised presents and treasure them for years to come!
